Amy’s Flavour of the Month June 2007
Every month I will be giving you a list of things
that I can’t get through the month without….

I have not been able to put this book down I
love it and want to move in with Francine!

If you haven’t joined the soil association yet do it is a must
for anyone who cares about what they eat and how it is produced

This is the month to adorn the house with peonies
– I just love them but I also love everything else at West
Dean in Sussex near Chichester

The National
Garden Scheme is 80 years old this year and up and down
the country gardeners will be celebrating. Make sure you have
a copy of the yellow book in your car at all times!

My broad
beans are out and we have been enjoying them for about 3
weeks now - with the older beans I have been making lots
of lovely crostini – mash cooked and shelled broad beans with
lemon juice, good olive oil, salt and a hint of chilli and spread
on toasted rounds of a delicious sourdough bread and top with
a slice of tomato. Fabulous with drinks or for a light
lunch!
