Pumpkins! Not just for keeping the ghouls away but for delicious soups and
vegetable mashes. If you have a glut of pumpkins store them in straw in a
cool dark dry place.

It's the start of the Pheasant season! Celebrate with a Pheasant Sunday
Lunch with all the trimmings. My Dem on October 16th features a raised Game
Pie.

Count down to Christmas - Start Planning for Christmas now - beat the credit
crunch and make home made goodies such as apple chutney, and home made
vanilla extract to give as presents this year. Make your Christmas cake,
mince meat and Christmas puddings this month.
